DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The federal Real I-D requirement will go into effect on May 7th.
Anyone planning to fly on a domestic flight or enter a federal building will need the Real I-D driver’s license, approved identification card or a passport.
If you still need one, the St. Louis County Auditor’s Service Center at the Miller Mall can process applications for Minnesota Real I-D driver’s licenses and identification cards.
Remember it takes about six weeks to receive the card after applying.
Bring necessary documents including a birth certificate or other document that proves your full legal name, date of birth and legal presence. Know your Social Security number and bring cash, check or credit card for payment.
Those needing a birth certificate can contact the St. Louis County Recorder’s Office in Duluth or Hibbing for a copy if you were born in Minnesota.
