DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – To reduce undesirable and invasive plants and encourage the re-growth and vitality of native perennials and grasses, the City of Duluth will be conducting some controlled burns at various sites this month.
The locations for the prescribed burns are Chamber’s Grove Park, Piedmont Park, the roadside near the Arlington soccer fields and pollinator gardens along the Lakewalk and near Pier B.
Each site will take one or two hours to burn and will be done only if weather conditions are right for successful controlled fires.
The burns will also be used by the Duluth Fire Department to train their staff in wild land firefighting techniques.
