DAKAR (Reuters) – The IMF’s Senegal mission chief on Thursday told investors a decision is expected in May on whether Senegal must repay money disbursed under a previous programme after the previous government misreported economic data, three sources said.
Discussions with Senegal on a new International Monetary Fund programme are expected to begin in June or July, Edward Gemayel said on a call with investors, three people on the call said.
A spokeswoman for Senegal’s finance ministry said the situation was “dynamic” and evolving.
