WASHINGTON (Reuters) -International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said on Thursday that for China to shift its economy towards consumption, it will need to end a property crisis, add social safety net protections, boost its services sector and let private sector companies reach their full potential.
Georgieva also told a news conference that she was concerned about the ASEAN region because this grouping of relatively open Southeast Asian economies were highly exposed to U.S. tariffs and trade tensions and should work to boost regional trade links.
