DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – As part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, there will be opportunities across the area for people to safely dispose of unwanted or expired medication on Saturday.
Staff will be available from 10 a-m to 2 p-m at the St. Louis County Sheriff Offices in Virginia, Hibbing and Ely, the Walmart parking lot in Cloquet, the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office in Moose Lake and the Thomson Township Town Hall.
The Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD), now known as Resource Renew, is also hosting an event at their facilities in Duluth from 8 a-m to 4 p-m.
In Douglas County, a special drug drop off site will be located at the Superior Public Library on Friday from 11 a-m to 3 p-m.
There are also drop boxes available at most law enforcement agencies that will accept unwanted prescription drugs throughout the year.
Medications should be brought in their original containers if possible with personal identifying information crossed off.
