CALGARY (Reuters) -The U.S. Treasury does not anticipate any trade deal announcements as part of a G7 finance ministers and central bank governors meeting this week in Canada, a source briefed on U.S. participation in the meeting said.
The source told reporters on condition of anonymity that while Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will interact with his Japanese counterparts in Banff, Alberta, additional trade discussions were expected to take place in Washington.
“I would not expect that we’re going to be announcing anything at the G7 but we’ve made very substantial progress with a number of our G7 partners already,” the source said.
