DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – After more than 40 years serving the area as the Duluth Superior Community Foundation, the name has been changed to Boreal Waters Community Foundation.
Boreal means “of the north” and also describes the ecosystem that thrives in northern latitudes.
Officials say the new name reflects the expanded reach of the foundation and honors the diverse and interconnected communities they support.
They currently serve 12 counties and 7 tribal nations in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
The mission of the Boreal Waters Community Foundation of uniting people and resources to create lasting impacts will continue as before.
