VIRGINIA, MN (KDAL) – Around 4:30 on Friday morning, a passerby called 911 to report flames coming from the roof of the former Elroy Supper Club north of Virginia.
The building in the 7200 block of Britt Bypass had been renovated into a residence and was believed to be occupied.
The reporting party honked a horn to alert the occupants who were able to escape the fire without injury.
Several area fire departments battled the fire and the cause is under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal.
