DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The first phase of a project that will recondition 6th Avenue East in Duluth is beginning this week.
Starting Wednesday, 9th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues East and 10th Street between Central Entrance and 6th Avenue East will be closed to vehicle traffic.
Lane closures will also be needed on 6th Avenue East and on Central Entrance and slower travel times can be expected in the area.
Work in the first phase includes service line replacements, curb and sidewalk repairs and traffic signal upgrades.
Phase two of the project begins in July and will require additional closures and detours.
Completion is expected in October.
