DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A combination of hot temperatures, high humidity and possible severe storms are in the forecast for this weekend across the Northland.
The National Weather Service Office in Duluth has issued an Extreme Heat Watch for the region on Saturday and Sunday as Heat Index readings could top a 100 in areas inland from Lake Superior.
An east wind on Friday and Saturday should keep it cooler in the Twin Ports and the north shore but Sunday looks to be around 90 throughout the area.
There is a chance of thunderstorms each day and some could be severe on Friday and Friday night.
A cool down is expected on Monday.
To avoid heat related illness, drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun and in air conditioned rooms if possible and check on friends and neighbors.
