DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A variety of tall ships and other vessels will be featured at the 2025 edition of the Festival of Sail in Duluth Thursday through Sunday.
It opens with the Parade of Sail at 11 a-m Thursday as the ships head under the Aerial Lift Bridge to dock behind the DECC.
Also featured at the event is the Superior High Dive Challenge where 10 internationally ranked athletes will be diving off a 65 foot tower. There will be live entertainment throughout the festival with deck tours and day sails available on some of the ships.
The Aerial Lift Bridge and the Minnesota Slip pedestrian bridge will be operating on modified schedules during the Festival of Sail.
The Aerial Bridge will be up for longer than normal periods during the Parade of Sail to allow the tall ships to enter the harbor. Thursday through Sunday the slip bridge between the DECC and Canal Park will raise at :15 and :45 past each hour.
Traffic in and around the downtown and Canal Park areas will be heavier during the festival and motorists should expect some significant delays.
