(Reuters) -The UK’s FTSE 100 blue chip index rose to a fresh record high on Thursday, supported by strength in healthcare and materials stocks.
By 0712 GMT, the index was up 0.76% after hitting 8,939.25 points, its highest level on record. The FTSE is up around 9.3% so far this year, set for its best annual performance in four years.
