(Reuters) – Consumer price inflation in France rose to 0.9% in June, slightly above analysts’ expectations and the preliminary reading, statistics office INSEE said on Friday.
France’s harmonized inflation rate for June, adjusted for comparison with other euro zone countries, was revised up from a preliminary reading of 0.8%, INSEE said. That was up from 0.6% in May.
A Reuters poll of 15 analysts had on average expected a 0.8% rate for EU-harmonised inflation, with estimates ranging from 0.8% to 0.9%.
The domestic consumer price index rose 1.0% year-on-year in June, up from 0.7% in May, driven by accelerating service prices and a smaller decline in energy costs.
Core inflation edged up to 1.2% from 1.1% in the prior month.
