ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) – The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives Office has announced the opening of a reward fund to help advance cases of eligible missing persons, suspicious deaths and homicide investigations in Minnesota.
The initiative offers rewards of up to 10 thousand dollars for tips that lead to solving the cases.
The legislation that established the reward fund was authored by Representative Liish Kozlowski during the 2022 session and provides support for community prevention and search efforts and law enforcement investigations throughout Minnesota.
The sale of specialty MMIR license plates has already added a hundred thousand dollars to the one time state allocation of 250 thousand dollars.
Over 700 Indigenous persons were reported missing in Minnesota last year.
Information on how to submit a tip or contribute to the fund is available online at https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/ojp/offices-missing-murdered/mmir-office
