DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A Minnesota State Patrol squad that was stopping traffic in the area of Highway 53 and the Swan Lake Road on Monday morning was hit by another vehicle.
The crash occurred while the trooper was temporarily stopping traffic during the transport of a wind turbine blade.
The impact, at highway speeds, forced the trooper’s vehicle to spin about 75 feet from the crash site.
Both drivers sustained minor injuries and the driver of the vehicle that hit the squad was cited for failure to obey an emergency vehicle.
The incident is being investigated by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
