SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – The body of a 57 year old man was recovered from his mostly submerged boat about a half mile out in the lake from the Superior entry on Sunday morning.
According to an investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the U-S Coast Guard, the 21 foot boat apparently crashed into the wall of the entry late Saturday night and the current then took the boat out to where it was found.
The victim, identified as William Linster of Superior, dropped off a friend he was boating with around 11:30 p-m Saturday and then returned to the water to spend the night as he often did.
The official cause of death is pending autopsy results and the boat, currently in 40 feet of water, will be recovered later in the week.
