The New Orleans Saints scored 14 second-half points to rally for a 17-17 tie against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in the second preseason game for each team.
Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler threw a 20-yard touchdown to Dante Pettis and ran in the two-point conversion himself with 21 seconds left to level the score.
Rattler, who played the second half after Tyler Shough got the first half, completed 18 of 24 passes for 199 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Pettis finished with 57 receiving yards, trailing Mason Tipton, who had a game-high 100 receiving yards for the Saints (0-1-1).
Starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence played two series for Jacksonville (0-1-1), throwing a 7-yard touchdown to Parker Washington to end his afternoon. He completed 8 of 10 passes for 76 yards, with rookie running back Bhayshul Tuten providing 35 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Jaguars.
Bears 38, Bills 0
Quarterback Caleb Williams made his 2025 preseason debut under new Chicago coach Ben Johnson and threw a touchdown pass in the opening series as the host Bears shut out Buffalo.
Williams finished 6 of 10 for 107 yards, including a 36-yard touchdown pass to Olamide Zaccheaus to conclude a game-opening 92-yard drive. Williams, the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, exited after the Bears’ second possession.
Tyson Bagent relieved Williams and went 13 of 22 for 196 yards, including a 11-yard TD pass to Tyler Scott. Bagent drove Chicago to three first-half touchdowns, as Brittain Brown and Ian Wheeler each ran one in from a yard out en route to a 28-0 halftime lead.
The Bills, who have lost both of their preseason games, again rested star quarterback Josh Allen, the reigning NFL MVP, as well as other starters including running back James Cook, who ended his hold-in with a contract extension in the past week. Mitchell Trubisky, a former Bears starter, was 7 of 13 for 55 yards for Buffalo in relief of game starter Mike White (4 of 11, 54 yards).
Bears cornerback Terell Smith was carted off the field with a non-contact knee injury in the second quarter, defensive end Dominique Robinson and wide receiver J.P. Richardson sustained ankle injuries, and defensive end Austin Booker and running back Deion Hankins exited with knee injuries. Bills defensive back Jordan Hancock sustained a shoulder injury.
