UNDATED (KDAL) – There is a lot to do in the outdoors during the fall season and the Minnesota DNR is urging everyone to have a safety focused mindset.
Duck hunters and anglers should make sure to wear a life jacket in the boat, hunters need to practice safe firearm handling and be careful climbing into or out of tree stands and off road vehicle users need to wear a DOT approved helmet.
Other safety measures to keep in mind are wearing blaze orange to be more visible when hunting or even taking a walk in the woods.
Ride off highway vehicles on designated trails and at a safe speed and keep an eye on the weather as conditions can change rapidly this time of year.
