DULUTH, MN/SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – Duluth Mayor Roger Reinert kicked off Domestic Violence Awareness Month on Wednesday with a proclamation reinforcing the city’s commitment to supporting survivors, raise awareness and foster a safer more compassionate community.
Superior Mayor Jim Paine also delivered a proclamation recognizing the month and the importance of community support.
Brittany Robb, the Director of Save Haven in Duluth, says every day of awareness is a step toward healing and change and hopes the conversation will continue all month long. She says Duluth stands united in its support of those affected by abuse and several events will be held throughout the month to engage the community.
Events include the National Day of Unity on the 6th, a ribbon cutting at the Safe Haven Resource Center on the 7th followed by the 20th Annual Celebration and Fundraiser at Clyde Iron Works on the 9th.
