DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Duluth Police have announced a financial scam that has been reported in the area.
The scammer claims to be from the Wells Fargo Bank and encourages the client to withdraw a certain amount of cash and ship it overnight to Florida to assist in a bank investigation.
Police say that at least three people fell for the scam but the money, totaling 48 thousand dollars, was recovered before it was shipped.
Police remind residents that financial institutions will never call and ask you to ship cash overnight.
Always call your local financial branch to verify any requests and never provide banking or personal information to unsolicited calls or emails.
