CANYON, MN (KDAL) – A 58 year old man from Faribault was airlifted to a Duluth hospital with serious injuries following a snowmobile crash Saturday.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred on snowmobile Trail 51, west of Highway 53 near Canyon.
The victim was traveling southbound when he crested a hill and encountered an occupied snowmobile parked on the trail. He was thrown from his snowmobile when he attempted to avoid hitting the parked machine.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds riders to always park your snowmobiles in a safe location if you need to stop along the trail.
