SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – To kick off National Travel and Tourism Week, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers made a stop at Pattison State Park on Monday afternoon.
The Governor took a hike at the park with State Department of Tourism Secretary Anne Sayers and others.
While there, Governor Evers highlighted a proposal in his Executive Budget for 2025-27 to re-authorize the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program for the next ten years.
Outdoor recreation in the state is a more than 11 billion dollar industry and his budget also establishes an Office of Outdoor Recreation and a significant investment in the Wisconsin State Park System.
As tourism continues to grow his proposed budget includes 34 million for the Department of Tourism to promote the state’s recreational and cultural attractions.
Earlier in the day, Evers visited the Wisconsin Logging Museum in Eau Claire.
