MANILA (Reuters) -The Philippines’ fisheries bureau said on Thursday a Chinese Coast Guard vessel had fired water cannon and sideswiped one of its vessels, resulting in damage and risking the lives of its civilian crew who were conducting marine scientific research.
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources condemned what it said was the “aggressive interference” of the Chinese Coast Guard against two of its vessels in the incident in the South China Sea on Wednesday.
