MADISON, WI (KDAL) – Wisconsin tourism saw a third consecutive year of record breaking economic impacts in 2024.
Over 114 million visitors last year resulted in an all time economic impact high of 25.8 billion dollars in the state surpassing the former pre-pandemic record.
Direct visitor spending in the state increased 3.5 percent in 2024.
Visitors supported one of every 21 jobs in Wisconsin and brought in nearly 1.7 billion dollars in state and local taxes.
In northwest Wisconsin last year, tourism impact was up by 3.3 percent in Douglas County, up less than 1 percent in Bayfield and Sawyer Counties and down less than 1 percent in Ashland County.
