NEW DELHI (Reuters) -India’s wholesale inflation in May slowed to 0.39% year-on-year from 0.85% in April, government data showed on Monday.
Economists polled by Reuters had estimated wholesale price inflation at 0.8%.
Wholesale inflation in May was lowest since 0.26% recorded in March 2024.
Annual retail inflation slowed to 2.82% in May, the lowest in more than six years, from 3.16% in April.

* Wholesale food prices rose 1.72% year-on-year in May against a 2.55% rise in April
* Vegetable prices fell 21.62% against an 18.26% drop in April
* Prices of manufactured products rose 2.04% in May against a 2.62% growth in April
* Fuel and power prices fell 2.27% in May against a 2.18% drop in April
