DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is conducting an investigation into the death of a St. Louis County Jail inmate in Duluth.
The inmate was found unresponsive in their cell about 9:35 on Tuesday morning and life saving measures were taken by jail staff and first responders.
The attempts to resuscitate the inmate were unsuccessful and, at this time, the cause of death is unknown.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office has requested that the BCA investigate the death to avoid any conflicts of interest.
The inmate’s name has not yet been released.
