(Reuters) -The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has launched an in-depth investigation into SoftBank Group Corp’s purchase of semiconductor designer Ampere Computing LLC, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday.
The probe, known formally as a second request for information, is a follow-up inquiry into the deal and suggests that the acquisition may undergo an extended government review, according to the report.
Reuters could not immediately verify the report.
