DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – According to Northern News Now, a hit and run accident on West Skyline Parkway Tuesday afternoon left two pedestrians with minor non life threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved left the scene but was later located and identified.
The suspected driver of the vehicle is a 68-year-old male and remains on a hold at a local hospital. Once cleared he will be lodged at the St. Louis County Jail for pending charges of Criminal Vehicular Operation.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
That stretch of road has been the topic of safety changes after back-to-back fatal crashes last year. In response, the city decided to try out new safety features, including guard rails and one-way traffic with lanes dedicated to pedestrians.
