ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MN (KDAL) – The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department was called to separate snowmobile crashes on Tuesday.
The first was on the Arrowhead Snowmobile Trail north of Orr at 12:26 p-m.
Two oncoming snowmobiles collided on a curve and one of the drivers was thrown from his machine that rolled several times. The 57 year old man from the south Metro area was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has not yet been identified by authorities.
The other driver involved in the crash was not injured.
First responders were also called to a snowmobile crash in Canosia Township in the area of the Lavaque and Martin Roads at around 7:30 p-m.
An adult female lost control of the snowmobile she was driving and fell off the machine onto the roadway.
She was taken to a hospital for treatment of what appeared to be non life threatening injuries.
