ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has announced the winners of this year’s snowplow naming contest.
Over 18,800 people voted from a list of finalists and the top eight names will be added to MnDOT snowplows across the state.
The annual contest began in 2020 and there will now be 48 named plows clearing snow across Minnesota.
The new names for 2026 and their location:
Oh, For Sleet’s Sake – District 3 (Central Minnesota)
Flurrious George – District 6 (Southeast Minnesota)
Sled Zeppelin – District 2 (Northwest Minnesota)
K Pop Blizzard Hunter – District 8 (Southwest Minnesota)
Minne-Snow-ta – District 1 (Northeast Minnesota)
Every Day I’m Shovelin’ – District 7 (South Central Minnesota)
O Brother, Where Art Plow? – District 4 (West Central Minnesota)
The Life of a Snowgirl – Metro District (Twin Cities)
Previous winning names include Plowabunga, Taylor Drift, Sleetwood Mac, Betty Whiteout and Plowy McPlow Face.
