DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The National Weather Service Office in Duluth has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until noon on Thursday for freezing drizzle.
The advisory includes the North Shore of Lake Superior, the Twin Ports and extends into Carlton County.
A Dense Fog Advisory is also in place across the region with visibilities limited to less than a quarter mile.
The freezing drizzle could create very slippery conditions on sidewalks, roadways and bridges.
The Weather Service says the advisory could be extended through Thursday evening depending on temperature trends and the onshore flow from Lake Superior.
There is also a chance of freezing rain in the forecast for the area on Friday and Friday night.
Motorists should slow down and use caution while traveling in foggy and icy conditions.
The accumulating ice could also lead to possible power outages with east winds gusting to 25 miles per hour.
