SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – Groups of students from the Superior High School, Cooper Elementary, Northwestern Middle and High School and Northwood Technical College are among groups that will be working Wednesday to clean up areas along Mortorelli Drive in Superior.
During the cleanup, students will have separate buckets for discarded tobacco and vaping products. Those products are not only unhealthy for human consumption, they also pollute the environment and are toxic to wildlife.
After the clean up, students will have discussions about what they found and the pollution practices they can exercise at school and home.
Cigarette butts and nicotine pouches should be discarded in the trash and vapes can be taken to the Superior Police Department for proper disposal.
As part of Earth Day consider helping to clean up your neighborhood, plant a tree or a pollinator garden and donate unused items to a second hand store rather than throwing them in the landfill.
