The Vancouver Whitecaps announced a contract extension Thursday for Canadian defender Ralph Priso.
Priso, 24, is now signed through the 2028-29 MLS season with a club option for the 2029-30 campaign.
He has started 42 of his 79 appearances since arriving in a March 2024 trade with the Colorado Rapids.
“Ralph came to us with a strong foundation and has continued to develop into a more complete player,” Whitecaps sporting director Axel Schuster said. “His growth over the past two seasons, both with our club and now at the international level, is a testament to the work he has put in and the environment we have created here. We’re very pleased that he has committed his future to the club, and we believe there is still much more to come from him.”
Priso has three goals and nine assists in 106 career MLS matches (50 starts) with Toronto FC (2020-22), Colorado (2022-23) and Vancouver.
“I’m extremely happy to extend my contract in Vancouver,” Priso said. “I’m so grateful to my teammates, the coaching staff, and everyone at the club for the role they’ve played in my growth and development. I can’t wait to continue this journey together and keep working toward our goal of bringing the MLS Cup to our fans.”
