TWO HARBORS, MN (KDAL) – Gooseberry Falls State Park on the North Shore of Lake Superior has been nominated by USA Today for its 10 Best Readers Choice Awards for state parks.
Online voting is now underway among all the nominated parks at https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/best-state-park/.
You can vote once a day from now until noon on May 11th.
Gooseberry Falls State Park has been the most visited park in Minnesota for seven of the last ten years and averages about 760,000 visitors a year.
Gooseberry was selected by a panel of USA Today editors who chose the best nationwide outdoor attractions to compete in the 10 Best contest.
Besides the spectacular series of waterfalls, Gooseberry also has about 20 miles of hiking trails along the river and through cedar and spruce forests.
The list of 20 parks across the nation that are up for votes also includes Peninsula State Park in Door County Wisconsin.
